This fictional autobiographical account of the famous Dred Scott brings him to life with compassion and the intimate sort of detail that the listener will not soon forget. The text version in dialect form may be a little difficult for young people to read, but reader Fernandez takes care of that difficulty with ease and grace. His strong voice and deliberate cadence do justice to the compelling tale of Scott's life as a slave with an assortment of masters, good and bad.
