The Appraisal Institute Joins the Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate in Bringing the Real Estate Industry Into the Internetworked World of the 21st Century.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Appraisal Institute and the Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate (OSCRE) have agreed to work closely together on an international effort to set data standards to drive out inefficiencies in the real estate industry and, in turn, save billions of dollars. In the United States alone, the lack of interoperability adds up to a $15.8 billion loss of capital in the architectural, engineering, construction and facility management industries (US Commerce 2004 NIST report).
