Red Squirrel Week (10th-18th September) is close to the heart of residents in the Isle of Wight.
The Isle of Wight is now the only region in the British Isles where red squirrels live in native broadleaf woodland. Local projects, with the help of the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) are helping to ensure the survival of these rare and special animals.
