Sep. 13--Hiring in the Merrimack Valley and across the state is expected to continue to increase this fall, according to a quarterly survey released today.
However, representatives of Manpower Inc. -- the Milwaukee-based company that conducts the survey -- and local observers all cautioned that the latest numbers do not reflect the impact of Hurricane Katrina.
Thirty percent of Merrimack Valley employers reported that they expect to add staff in the three-month period starting in October -- 10 percent said they would cut employees, and 57 percent said their staffing levels would remain the same.
