The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Joint Commission Resources (JCR) announced the establishment of the Joint Commission International Center for Patient Safety in March of this year. The Center is a virtual entity that brings together the expertise, resources and knowledge of both JCAHO and JCR. The mission of the Center is "To continuously improve patient safety by providing solutions, processes and procedures that help eliminate preventable adverse events in all health care settings."
