UNDER THE SURFACE, CU SCIENTIST BRILLIANT
Popular Science magazine has named University of Colorado undersea volcano researcher Alexis Templeton as one of its "Brilliant 10" scientists.
Temple- ton's work focuses on the activity of mineral- and metal-depen- dent bacteria found in submerged volcanoes around Hawaii.
At 34, she already has unearthed 40 new species of the bacteria.
