When an American distributor was asked whether or not the Monte Carlo market was important to him, he replied. "Do you think the Asians and the Latins will be attending Monte Carlo?" Unfortunately, the answer was no.
Most buyers from the Far East tend to prefer MIP-TV, the L.A, Screenings and MIPCOM, while the Latins favor NATPE and the L.A. Screenings. Naturally, the Far East and Latin America are the two growth areas for the film-TV distribution business.
