A group led by billionaire Microsoft Corp. co-founder Paul Allen would pump $150 million into the bankrupt SkyPix Corp. direct-broadcast satellite company over the next two years, under a re-organization plan filed last week with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Seattle.
Like the king's horses and men after Humpty Dumpty's fall, Sky King Investment Corp. would try to put together again as many as possible of the movie licensing, consumer financing, retail distribution and satellite transponder contracts entered into by SkyPix over the past two years and begin a pilot of a 72-channel service in April under a new name.
