China Telecom chief proposes acquisition of China Unicom network
Shanghai. February 4. INTERFAX-CHINA - China Telecom Chairman Wang Xiaochu has proposed teaming up with China Netcom, the country's second largest fixed-line operator, to acquire either China Unicom's national CDMA or GSM mobile network, Weng Shunlai, a Spokesperson with China Telecom (HK), told Interfax. China Telecom (HK) is the listed arm of China Telecom.
"This proposal is just Mr. Wang's personal opinion at this stage.
