Iron ore import license system will shake up the sector and make it more efficient
Shanghai. March 2. INTERFAX-CHINA - China's iron ore import license system took effect on March 1, and the new policy will set a higher qualification standard for iron ore importers and tighten supervision of the distribution channels for imported iron ore. The policy change will also likely help regularize the role of ore importers and bring the domestic ore prices to a more rational level, and encourage the flow of iron ore to larger, more sophisticated steel companies.
