Heinz China recalls products containing cancer-causing dye
Shanghai. March 7 INTERFAX-CHINA - A nationwide campaign has been launched by Chinese authorities to locate food products containing the cancer causing dye Sudan 1, after a Heinz subsidiary in China was found to be selling foodstuff containing the dye.
The Heinz Meiweiyuan Food (Guangzhou) Corporation, located in China's southern Guangdong Province, was proved to be selling products containing the substance. Heinz Meiweiyuan has recalled all its chili sauce and set-up a hotline for consumers. All production and sales of affected products have been stopped.
