Newlyweds' families file railroad suit.

Sep. 15--The families of newlyweds killed at an Audrain County railroad crossing have sued Norfolk Southern Railway Co., alleging that the company's negligence led to the collision.

David and Crystal Pope died June 29 after a Chevrolet Corsica driven by David Pope was struck by a Norfolk Southern train. The couple had been married less than three weeks.

A lawsuit seeking unspecified monetary damages was filed Aug. 19 in St. Louis Circuit Court. In the suit, two of the plaintiffs allege that negligence on the part of David Pope contributed to the accident.
