Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) achieved superior lung function improvements when treated with the free combination of two bronchodilators with different modes-of-action, Spiriva(R) (tiotropium) and formoterol, compared with the free combination of one bronchodilator, salmeterol, and an anti-inflammatory, fluticasone propionate, according to the results of a study presented today at the annual European Respiratory Society congress.(1)
