Kyoto, Japan 8/17/05; Stuttgart, Germany 8/18/05--Horiba has agreed to acquire SCHENCK-Development Test Systems (DTS) from Carl Schenck AG, which is owned by Durr AG, for an undisclosed sum. DTS manufactures test equipment for the automotive industry and supplies products such as powertrain research equipment, wind tunnel balances and brake testing. The sale consists of seven DTS businesses that together had 2004 revenues of 75 million [euro] ($93 million).
