Paralyzed woman inspires others with her spirit.(PEOPLE & PLACES)

GREENSBORO -- It frustrates Jean Moore that it takes her two hours to get dressed, but those who know her are inspired by what she can do.

Moore, 85, has been using a wheelchair to get about since she was paralyzed by polio more than 50 years ago. Last year she began to experience increased pain, muscle spasms and weakening vocal chords -- all symptoms of post polio syndrome.

In addition, macular degeneration makes it hard for her to see, and she is unable to hear as well as she once did.

But she still makes a "mean meatloaf," says Hermenia Milton, a nursing student who assists Moore three days a week with her personal needs.
