Sep. 20--The National Telecommunications Commission may recall the 3G spectrum reserved for Thai Mobile and reallocate it to other mobile operators.

According to chairman Gen Choochart Promprasit, the NTC is redrafting regulations on the how the spectrum should be reallocated.

Thai Mobile, a joint venture of TOT Plc and CAT Telecom, was allocated wireless spectrum in the 1800 and 1900 Megahertz bands by the Post and Telegraph Department for second- and third-generation (2G and 3G) wireless services.

But so far it offers just 2G services and has only 100,000 subscribers in a market of 28 million cellular ...
