HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Governor Edward G. Rendell today announced the commonwealth will assist Mississippi residents left unemployed by Hurricane Katrina by processing a portion of unemployment compensation claims calls their state is unable to handle due to high volume.

Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Office of Unemployment Compensation Service Center staff members in Scranton have been made available to help process calls from Mississippi.
