22 SEPTEMBER 2005 HONIARA (Pacnews) - Solomon Islands is still trying to get Lake Tengano on Rennell Island and Marovo Lagoon in the Western Province recognised as a World Heritage site.
The issue was discussed with the visiting UNESCO Pacific director, Dr Visesio Pongi.
Dr Pongi said World Heritage was set up to protect geographical sites of cultural significance to preserve the culture and the environment of a country.
