WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Red Cross is responding to an unprecedented natural catastrophe and devoting every resource to this humanitarian relief effort. The American people can be confident the Red Cross will spare no effort to meet the needs of hundreds of thousands of Hurricane Katrina survivors.
* On Wednesday night, the Red Cross housed nearly 264,000 people in hotels
and motels in 46 states and D.C. The Temporary Housing Assistance
Program will be extended another 30 days and will continue to grant
additional 30-day extensions until other housing options are available.
