THE importance of tourism to the Philippine economy cannot be underestimated. It remains one of the country's major hopes in the new economic order and is now one of the country's foreign exchange earners, contributing to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Because the country boasts of a hospitable and friendly people, year-round sunshine and pristine beaches, readily available transport systems to various destinations, and a diversity of tourist attractions, including ethnic, cultural, adventure, wildlife, and economic opportunities, it has made it possible for the government to give attention to environmental and cultural preservation and to monitor aspects of the ...
