The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has funded a 'Grand Challenge' project, 3D Mintegration, to develop new technologies for the manufacture of miniaturised components. Coordinated by Heriot Watt University, it has attracted funding of #8million and involves 29 companies and six UK universities.
