WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- A fundraising dinner on Sept. 22 honoring Morton Bahr, the just retired president of the Communications Workers of America, has raised more than $1.5 million that will be used to fund the educational wing of the Yitzhak Rabin Center for Israel Studies in Tel Aviv.

President William Jefferson Clinton, Senator Edward M. Kennedy and Dalia Rabin, daughter of the slain prime minister who has been commemorated by the center, all spoke of Bahr's fierce commitment to education and opportunity for working families and the state of Israel.
