For the third consecutive year, the overall title at the NPC USA men's bodybuilding championships was not won by a super heavyweight. Nor did the runner-up position, for the second of the show's two pro cards, go to a super heavyweight.
Last year, Mark Dugdale and Will Harris took the overall and runner-up posts, respectively, and Richard Jones and Mike Dragna did the honors in 2003. So, 2005's top dogs, Phil Heath and Fakhri Mubarak, have continued a trend in bodybuilding that seems to put a premium on a complete physique, regardless of size. That isn't to say that either Heath or Mubarak is lacking in the size department.
