MILWAUKEE -- Even the Milwaukee Brewers couldn't help but be impressed by Greg Maddux Thursday afternoon at Miller Park.
The Chicago Cubs right-hander, who has looked decidedly average during much of his 20th season, pulled the cork on a vintage performance, shutting out the Brewers on four hits over eight innings to lead the Cubs to a 3-0 victory and keep Milwaukee from sweeping the three-game series.
"Vintage Maddux," said Brewers manager Ned Yost, who spent 10 years with Maddux in Atlanta.
