COLUMBUS, Ohio _ He couldn't beat Ohio State's defense, so Iowa quarterback Drew Tate took out his frustration on the Ohio Stadium turf.
After linebacker Bobby Carpenter sacked him in the third quarter, Tate got up and spiked the football, drawing a 15-yard penalty. Carpenter had to be grinning inside his helmet.
"That's gratifying for a defense when you can affect the quarterback that much," Carpenter said. "When you see him show outward emotion, that's definitely a plus."
