Chief Minister Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith has promised to oversee the swift introduction of rigid firearms legislation in the Territory. The Chief Minister made the commitment in a statement to the people of the Territory on Wednesday evening, while announcing his Government's seven-point action plan on crime. "I am going to personally oversee the swift introduction of legislation to strengthen the regulation of firearms in the BVI," the Chief Minister said.
