Sarah Michelson was, by her admission, a little drunk. The critics' darling among New York's "downtown" choreographers was at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, joining in the revelry following the premiere of Merce Cunningham's "Split Sides." Someone tapped her on the shoulder, and she was introduced to Philip Bither, Walker Art Center's performing-arts curator.
