Article: Mopeds to remain legal when Conn. pocket bike ban goes into effect.

Byline: Rob Varnon

Sep. 26--Mopeds will remain legal in the state of Connecticut when a ban on miniature motorcycles, or pocket bikes, goes into effect on Oct. 1, after dealers and riders flooded the Department of Motor Vehicles and lawmakers with complaints.

"The law's on our side," said Stephen Hill, owner of the Moped Warehouse in Plainville and a self-described mopedologist.

Hill sells mopeds to the public and to dealers throughout the state.

He and other moped riders contacted the DMV and state lawmakers to iron out the problem.
