There are fears that one of Wales' biggest and most protected populations of great crested newts could be moving out of its habitat. Conservationists say the newts are being spotted in nearby garden ponds and they believe that they might be searching for more water.
So the Woodland Trust (Coed Cadw) is starting to make the rare amphibians' favourite habitat deeper at Granllyn Pool, a small wood at Guilsfield, Powys.
