THE SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL REVIEW PROCESS is an important step in knowledge development as evidenced by a recent article in the Chronicle of Higher Education (Glenn, 2004). One reason editors, reviewers, and readers of scholarly journals are especially concerned with maintaining the integrity of the review process is the potential consequences of communicating false or flawed information. The journal review process can certainly benefit from on-going assessment and scrutiny in as much as the ultimate goal is to make available knowledge that increases our understanding of our world.
