The Minneapolis Convention Center stands to pick up some extra bookings in the coming months, as conventions planned for hurricane-ravaged New Orleans are scrambling to find new venues.
The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, where thousands of New Orleans residents took refuge after Hurricane Katrina struck, has canceled all events until March 31. About 80 trade shows and conventions have been moved, delayed or canceled, according to Michael Hart, editor of Trade Show Week.
