Paramedics 'stole [pounds sterling]800 from heart attack patient'; 999 pair are accused of preying on man they were taking to hospital.

TWO ambulancemen have been accused of stealing from critically ill patients - including [pounds sterling]800 from an 88-year- old suspected heart attack victim.

Michael Chaves, 38, and Mohammed Ali, 29, allegedly carried out the thefts while working for the London Ambulance Service as paramedics.

As well as stealing from the 88-year-old, Ali is also said to have taken a [pounds sterling]3,000 heart monitor from their ambulance station in St John's Wood, North-West London.

Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court heard yesterday how Thomas Forsyth dialled 999 after suffering a suspected heart attack on November 17 last year.
