TALLAHASSEE, Fla. _ Bobby Bowden could never have realistically expected to calm Xavier Lee by pushing his words around, dressing them up like a careful politician, always refusing to say "backup."
The evidence on the field eventually overwhelmed the words out of Bowden's mouth. Lee never saw action at quarterback two weeks ago against Boston College. And this week, it seems, his frustration is finally beginning to get the better of his limited patience.
Lee, Florida's Mr. Football in 2003 out of Seabreeze High, told one Web site he was so frustrated with his role behind Drew Weatherford he wanted to discuss it with Bowden ...
