Article: New Delhi, Sep 27 (PTI) Uttaranchal has become the 13th state to join the new defined contributory pension scheme, while Maharashtra is likely to join in November this year.

"Uttaranchal became the 13th state to join the New Pension Scheme (NPS)," Pension Fund Regulatory and Developemnt Authority chairman D Swarup said at the IIEF Pension Policy Conclave here.
At the state Cabinet meeting today, Uttaranchal declared that it would join the scheme.
Maharashtra has stated that it will join the NPS from November 1 and the state Cabinet is likely to take up the issue when it meets next week.
