Music giants Universal, EMI, Warner, Sony BMG and their local subsidiaries are suing China's largest search engine Baidu for allegedly infringing the copyright of hundreds of songs, according to Liang Dong, the company's Marketing Vice President. Speaking on September 16, Mr Dong confirmed reports in the Hong Kong Daily Standard that big music companies accuse Baidu (also known as the Chinese Google) of allowing users to download illegal copies of their songs via its MP3 search engine.
