Oil exports resumed at Iraq's southern Basrah terminal on Monday afternoon after an electrical power outage forced shippers to suspend loading for 12 hours, briefly causing a rally in the crude markets (see page 3).

An official of Iraq's South Oil Co. said two tankers had resumed loading after power was restored at about 3 p.m. local time, but he provided no further details.

Shipping agents in Basrah told Oil Daily that the supertanker Arosa and the mediumsized tanker Toledo Spirit resumed loading at a combined rate of 19,000 barrels per hour, or 456,000 b/d.
