IF YOU LOOK at the varieties of olive oil on the grocery shelf and say, "Eenie meanie miney moe," here's some help in making the right selection for your cooking needs. There are three general varieties - olive oil, extra virgin olive oil and extra light olive oil.
All offer heart-healthy properties, so you won't go wrong there.
But when you understand that each has a unique aroma, color and flavor profile, it's easier to select the right oil for a specific cooking need.
