Activity in commercial mortgage-backed securities is on the upswing thanks to a meeting of supply and demand, according to an industry executive who has watched the market develop for over 10 years.
Securitization of commercial mortgages "has been discussed for 10 years now and only recently has there been any activity," according to Mary-Jane Flaherty, a managing director of Prudential Realty Group.
Ms. Flaherty recently participated in a seminar sponsored by the New York Society of Security Analysts which examined this market's growth.
