There wasn't a dry eye in Antioch's village hall last week as Mayor Dorothy Larson read a resolution honoring Benjamin Jansky, a 1994 graduate of Antioch High School, who was killed in Iraq this summer. Jansky was serving as a maintenance worker in the Army Reserves.
A tearful Larson got through the resolution with a shaky voice and afterward gave a long hug to Jansky's father, Don. Following that, the audience gave a standing ovation.
"This is a very nice honor," said Don Jansky, who lives in Fox Lake. "He loved serving the country and will be dearly missed."
