Sep. 29--Charleston air travelers will pay more for tickets and have fewer flights and destinations to choose from as the cash-strapped airline industry cuts unprofitable routes and scrambles to mitigate surging fuel costs.
But the Holy City is still an attractive destination for airlines, and analysts don't expect any long-term drop in capacity or traffic at Charleston International Airport.
"It's a very healthy market, it's just going to become less convenient," said Pat Waters, a Charleston County Aviation Authority board member.
