IN THE PRE-DAWN HOURS OF OCTOBER 8TH, THE ENGINEERS WILL BE OUT IN THE DESERT darkness, lining up their all-terrain vehicles, SUVs, Hummers, and pick-ups, to have a go at the impossible.
