Spain's Grupo Uriach has licensed its developmental drug albaconazole (UR-9825), an oral, broad-spectrum antifungal that has shown a promising clinical profile in Phase II trials, to privately-held US dermatological firm Stiefel Laboratories.
The agreement has the potential for generating annual product sales in excess of $1.0 billion, making it the largest deal in Stiefel's history, says the US company, which will have exclusive rights to develop and market UR-9825 worldwide.
Under the terms of the deal, Uriach receives an upfront fee, milestone payments and royalties on future worldwide sales. In some European countries, Uriach will be the co-marketing ...
