Statistical Process Control (SPC) can be used wherever a product is being produced. SPC uses statistical tech-niques to analyze the output of a process, so that proper actions can be taken to achieve and maintain a state of control over the process.

SPC helps workers identify the causes of problems. The removal of these causes can result in an improvement in process capability, i.e., the ability of a process to deliver product consistently within specification limits.
