The shooting of Dr. David Gunn, abortionist, in Pensacola, Florida, was murder, legally and morally. It is to be condemned without qualification. As is the killing of unborn babies to be condemned. Civilization cannot tolerate private executions, as civilization cannot long survive the license to terminate unwanted human lives.
A handful of pro-lifers are tempted to argue that there were mitigating circumstances, that Michael Griffin killed Dr. Gunn in defense of children who would otherwise have been aborted.
