Union Pacific is repainting several of its newest road locomotives into "Heritage Series" paint schemes that reflect fallen flags that have been absorbed into the UP system over the past 25 years. Six such roads--Missouri Pacific, Western Pacific, Missouri-Kansas-Texas, Chicago & North Western, Southern Pacific, and Denver & Rio Grande--will be represented. They will be numbered according to the year UP acquired them, and will operate across the UP system.
