Oct. 2--LAKE WALES -- The tranquillity and beauty that have attracted more than 23 million visitors since 1929 to Historic Bok Sanctuary have received a $6.5 million reprieve to keep at bay the growth that is gobbling up real estate all around Polk County.
The grant from Florida Community Trust has been awarded Green Horizon Land Trust funds to buy land surrounding the sanctuary to keep views from the vistas inspiring and serenity from being shattered.
