RFID standards are about to get really standardized.
About eight months after the adoption of the Generation 2 standard for radio frequency identification, vendors are beginning to release equipment that supports it. If all goes according to plan, end users will soon be able to choose from an array of tags and readers that meet rigorous performance standards, with guaranteed interoperability within and outside the U.S.
