NEW YORK -- Organic hair care products, as well as those formulated with natural ingredients, continue to rate high with a significant segment of the consumer population.
"The natural, botanical-type shampoos by Nature's Gate and Avalon represent the strongest segment in the hair care market," says Janine Black, retail operations manager at Ritzman Pharmacies.
Such traditional brands as Suave, Prell and Head & Shoulders are still the best-sellers at Ritzman, Black says, while some of the weakest performers at the chain include the specialty gels, mousses and conditioners, which appear to function more as add-on sales for the standard shampoo and ...
