NEW YORK -- The approval of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.'s paroxetine hydrochloride (the generic version of GlaxoSmithKline PLC's Paxil) was one of several recent O.K.'s given by the Food and Drug Administration.
Under the abbreviated new drug application approved last month, Teva will market 10-, 20-, 30- and 40-mg tablets of the drug.
"Since we are the leading generic pharmaceutical manufacturer, our customers expect us to supply them with a continuous supply of important new generic pharmaceuticals," Teva national sales director John Denman says. "The availability of paroxetine tablets helps us meet that objective."
