THE CHALLENGER LEARNING CENTER USES ONLINE CURRICULUM to integrate practical uses of science and technology into the elementary classroom. Their new curriculum--called e-Mission: Moon, Mars, and Beyond--begins with a series of online classroom activities in preparation for a final flight simulation. Students divide into target area problem-solving groups, such as the Food and Oxygen team. After practicing for a few weeks, the groups work together during the flight simulation to solve problems assigned to them by the mission control according to each group's specialty.
